Engineering Manager

The Job

TuneCore Engineering develops web applications in the music space supporting our talented customers and internal operations.  We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers in building the world’s best distribution and artist development platform in the world.  As an Engineering Manager you will oversee the architecture for one of our product value stream squads, manage the projects for that squad, and mentor and coach the people on the squad.  Our current technology stack consists mostly of Ruby on Rails and React, but we are always looking to use the tools that are most appropriate for the task at hand. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage 4+ engineers building features, tools, and infrastructure.

  • Lead successful development and delivery of team projects and operations

  • Mentor direct reports, provide performance feedback and help them develop their careers. 

  • Collaborate with product, design, and other teams to set the roadmap and balance new features with technical debt.

  • Partner with engineering leadership to help determine engineering team strategy and tackle team-wide inefficiencies.

  • Contribute in a hands-on manner writing code and reviewing code written by members of the engineering team

  • Uphold TuneCore’s core mission, vision, and values

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience writing production code

  • 3+ years of tech leadership

  • Proficient at project management; can make the right tradeoffs to ship projects on time with high quality.

  • Experience mentoring individual contributors of different seniority levels and expertise (frontend/backend). 

  • Experience writing code within the context of a web-based framework such as Ruby, Node, or Python along with an ORM.

  • A strong understanding of React.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred

Additional Information

Salary: $121,700 –  $175,200

US – Head of TuneCore

The Job

TuneCore is looking for a Head of TuneCore to lead its US business. This opportunity oversees TuneCore’s largest market and contains many of our high profile artists and B2B label and manager clients. The Head of TuneCore will champion the TuneCore suite of products and services to focus on artist development with specialization at the first stage of development in the Americas. They will be responsible for developing the artist & B2B label acquisition, growth and retention strategy and overseeing teams to implement that strategy to maximize growth for both artist & B2B labels and TuneCore while achieving TuneCore’s long-term margin targets. 

Reporting to the CRO, the Head of TuneCore understands not only the artist’s experience, client needs and creator journey, but also how TuneCore’s audience development solutions provide invaluable benefit at all stages of artist career development. As a people leader at TuneCore, they will play a critical role in developing and supporting the team to perform at their best and create value for both key clients and TuneCore. Our artists’ success is our success. They will build a high performing, diverse team by recruiting talent, identifying and developing successors, driving retention and engagement, and cultivating an inclusive, creative and passionate culture.

The tasks and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

What You’ll Do

  • Acquisition, Growth & Retention Strategy: 

    • Design acquisition, growth and retention strategies for artist and B2B label partners and maximize TuneCore’s value participation 

    • Manage the regional P&L, setting budgets and financial goals to ensure growth, profitability, and market penetration in the region.​

    • Set and measure performance against KPI targets, including revenue and profitability objectives

    • Identify strategic growth opportunities by client segment in the Americas

    • Manage sales and serve teams to identify, onboard and retain both high potential and high value accounts in the Americas

    • Work closely with the catalog acquisition team to identify and acquire attractive catalogs within the Americas portfolio

  • Artist Development and Success: 

    • Meet regularly with managers, labels, DSPs, and other key industry players to bridge artist and B2B label partners needs with industry trends, and DSP evolving requirements 

    • Set and measure performance against growth and margin targets

    • Oversee and manage EMP and Social Channel teams to create value for high potential and high value artists

    • Work closely with TuneCore Accelerator team to build programs to enhance artist development and value creation

  • Leadership & Collaboration: 

    • Manage and inspire regional team leads to gain market share in key verticals

    • Build relationships and work effectively with other business units, including artist success, operations, technology & product teams, as well as our parent company Believe

 

Qualifications

  • 9-12 years of experience in the music industry leading a distributor, independent record label, or management company preferred. 
  • Deep knowledge of the current and global music market, digital landscape, and trends

  • Passion for independent music and artist development

  • Successful experience in P&L ownership and team management with strong operational rigor able to achieve growth (new client acquisition and cross-selling to existing clients), retention and catalog optimization targets

  • Existing network of industry contacts (including key partners) across multiple sectors

  • A proven negotiator who can creatively develop new business ideas

  • Target driven and capacity to work in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing workload; you’re comfortable with substantial cold-calling and outreach activity.

  • BS/BA degree or higher

VP Artist Development

The Job

TuneCore is looking for a VP Artist Development to lead its global artist development business. This opportunity includes managing the TuneCore Accelerator Program, the powerhouse platform that helps independent artists find new audiences and propel their fandom at each phase of development. This best-in-class platform provides access to promotional programs designed to help today’s artists: drive the discovery of their music, build their audience, and promote deeper fan engagement. The VP Artist Development will not only lead the team as we expand TCA but work closely with TuneCore’s parent company Believe, on the strategic development and operational execution of new artist development programs. The VP Artist Development will be responsible for driving both artist music sales and TuneCore revenue from artist development initiatives and high levels of artist participation in all artist development programs.

What You’ll Do

  • Own Artist Development Platform: Lead artist development globally for TuneCore through TuneCore Accelerator and other programs.  Collaborate closely with product and marketing teams to ensure the platform’s value is effectively communicated to both existing and prospective users. Accountable for high levels of artist participation in all artist development programs. 

  • Lead Artist and TuneCore Revenue Growth: Responsible for increasing digital music sales for artists and revenue growth for TuneCore by aligning the program’s goals with the broader TuneCore mission and business strategy.

  • Oversee and Scale Program Operations: Lead the strategic development and operational execution of Artist Development programs, including the TuneCore Accelerator platform, ensuring its continued growth and success in providing marketing, promotional, and audience development services to independent artists at various stages of their careers.

  • Drive Innovation and Expansion: Identify and implement new opportunities for expanding artist development, through DSP partner pilots, catalog optimization tools, and promotional programs, ensuring that the TuneCore is at the forefront of industry trends and exceeds the needs of self-releasing artists globally.

  • Oversee Artist Success and Engagement: Lead global initiatives and work with local teams to identify and develop artists with potential and drive their growth through development programs focused on streaming growth, revenue, and fanbase development, using TuneCore digital marketing programs and regional marketing and related activities.

  • Data-Driven Decision-Making: Utilize data from the platform’s performance metrics (e.g., streams, track discoveries, audience growth) to guide decision-making, ensuring that marketing programs are optimized for maximum impact on artist development, revenue, and fan engagement.

 

Qualifications

  • 9-12 years of experience in the music industry, with experience at a label or distributor and most recently has been working at a DSP in Artist Marketing/Product division 
  • Deep knowledge of the current and global music market, digital landscape, and trends, including the challenges and opportunities faced by self-releasing artists. Experience working with artist development, digital distribution, and audience-building strategies across diverse genres and markets.

  • A strong belief in the value of independent music and a passion for supporting artists in their journey to success. 

  • Successful experience in P&L ownership and 

    • leading large teams and cross-functional initiatives, 

    • building and scaling platforms or programs in the music or entertainment sector, 

    • driving measurable results in streaming growth, artist development, and global market expansion

Artist Support Specialist

The Job

As an Artist Support Specialist, you will work directly with TuneCore artists via email and phone to help them distribute their music online, answer their questions, and resolve any issues they have about their service.

  • Answer customer emails and phone calls to help clients distribute their music, and to use other TuneCore services
  • Resolve issues and questions customers have about TuneCore products and services
  • Work within TuneCore’s administrative system to update and correct account issues; cancel account content as needed
  • Product account management
  • Provide information on customer and product issues to your team’s Lead Agent
  • Work with a team on special projects as needed
  • Report technical and communication issues to better service TuneCore artists
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
  • Work on a flux schedule to provide support for our artists over weekend hours.

Qualifications

  • At least two years of experience working in an office and/or customer service preferred
  • BA/BS preferred
  • Strong communications skills: written, verbal, and interpersonal
  • Working knowledge of Mac and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understand the importance of good customer service in-person, via telephone, and via email
  • Manage time effectively and prioritize workload
  • Ability to work well independently, and as part of a team
  • An understanding of the digital music industry 
  • Fluent in English 
  • Experience with Zendesk a plus

US Marketing Manager

The Job

The US Marketing Manager plays a key operational role in executing the global artist development strategy led by the Head of International, Artist Services. This position focuses on managing international marketing campaigns, ensuring seamless coordination across global teams, and driving the success of selected artists in the US market. 

As a key operational lead, you will work closely with teams in the Europe, and Asia to ensure the execution of high-impact marketing campaigns, audience development initiatives, and strategic partnerships.  

You will also act as the primary liaison between the Head of International and local marketing teams, ensuring alignment and smooth execution of selected artist campaigns.  

Key Responsibilities 

International Artist Development & Campaign Execution 

  • Oversee the execution of international marketing and audience development strategies for a roster of selected artists.  

  • Coordinate with International EMP teams to drive opportunities on DSPs, media partners, agencies, and content creators to maximize artist visibility and reach in key international markets.  

  • Ensure high-quality support for international artists, including white-glove campaigns, promotional activations, and marketing strategies tailored to export countries.  

  • Support the development and execution of cross-border marketing collaborations and influencer activations.  

  • Provide structured reporting to measure campaign performance and optimize strategies. 

Team & Project Management 

  • Act as the day-to-day operational lead, ensuring smooth collaboration between international and local marketing teams.  

  • Ensure timely execution of international campaigns by setting clear milestones, deliverables, and accountability across internal teams.  

  • Troubleshoot and solve challenges proactively, ensuring efficient problem resolution in artist and market relations. 

Marketing Strategy Execution & Optimization 

  • Implement marketing and promotional strategies across digital and offline channels to drive targeted international artist growth.  

  • Ensure campaign execution aligns with Believe’s artist-first philosophy, emphasizing authenticity, audience engagement, and long-term sustainability.  

  • Monitor campaign performance in key markets and suggest data-driven optimizations to maximize impact.  

  • Manage external agency relationships to ensure best-in-class marketing execution in key territories. 

Financial & Performance Oversight 

  • Track campaign budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and maximum return on investment (ROI).  

  • Collaborate with finance teams to accurately track revenues, expenses, and profitability for international campaigns.  

  • Provide support in managing the international P&L, ensuring transparent budget allocation and cost control.  

  • Ensure timely and accurate forecasting and performance tracking for marketing and promotional spending. 

Data Analysis & Reporting 

  • Analyze key performance metrics for international campaigns, including streaming performance, audience engagement, and market penetration.  

  • Leverage audience data to refine marketing strategies and optimize artist positioning in export markets.  

  • Provide clear and actionable performance reports to the Head of International and senior leadership teams.  

  • Monitor local market trends and emerging opportunities to proactively adjust strategies.

The Job

Believe is looking for a VP, USA – Labels and Artist Solutions (LAS)  to conduct its expansion in the US. Together with the MD of English-Speaking Regions and the Global Head of Music you will conceive the long-term sales strategy per music segment and definition of the value proposition, lead complex sales conversations to deliver our annual revenue targets and oversee the service team ensuring we deliver and maximize the value for our clients. The VP will focus on growth and profitability of the business. Believe is seeking an experienced music professional with deep connections in the US music ecosystem, who can grow, scale and motivate high output teams to drive outcomes and cultivate a creative and music passionate culture.  

The tasks and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Vision & Strategy

  • Responsible for defining and leading priority market segments and value proposition  
  • Oversees budgeting and forecasting for global revenue
  • Identify, target, and close new business opportunities
  • Work with Central platform to define M&A strategy
  • Understand competitive landscape and market trends via in depth data analysis

Sales and Client satisfaction

  • Lead complex sales discussions with clients
