The Job

Job title: Legal Director, India & South Asia

Employment contract: Permanent

Location: Mumbai

Missions:

You will be in charge of managing the legal matters of the affiliated companies of the Believe Group in India, mostly in contract and IP law. You will ensure the Group’s templates of contract and the Group’s processes are applied.

In practical terms, your tasks and responsibilities shall be:

  • Review and implement the guidelines, processes and policies decided by the Group, as adapted if needed to comply with the Indian local laws, and control they are applied;
  • Propose for improvements of such guidelines, policies and process, to ensure they always comply with legal requirements;
  • Draft and negotiate contracts with local customers (artists and music labels) or providers, in accordance with the Group guidelines. The main contracts are about the following areas: Copyright (including recording rights and publishing rights and any related grand of rights), Music and video digital distribution, Services designed for music artists, Live, Advertising, Collective right societies, Inter Company, Service Provider, Lease, Non-Disclosure Agreements;
  • Manage
    • corporate law matters, including M&A transactions, corporate “housekeeping” and legal finance aspects
    • Data protection matters (data protection structures and operational matters)
    • Compliance topics including training and structures as well as handling of compliance (related) cases
  • Assist on corporate life of the affiliated companies of the Group located in India and on local corporate operations;
  • Legal monitoring on Indian law, interface of the Group for any matter related to Indian law and risk prevention.
  • Review and advice on HR related queries, matters and legal aspects
  • Research and prepare legal opinions on various topics
  • Resolve day to day legal queries raised by multiple stakeholders of the Group
  • Working closing with the legal counsels on providing briefings, coordinating on legal matters and assisting with filling of matters.

In this framework, you will report into the Managing Director – Operations in India. You will work on a day-to-day basis with people located in India and with the Central Legal Department located in France.

You will have a proactive approach and will pay constant attention to support the needs and deployment of the Group, while you will protect its interests. The working environment is Indian and international, with a huge growth and ongoing restructuring.

You are known for your leadership and your organizational skills. You are thorough, autonomous and have good adaptation skills. You have a proven aptitude for management and reporting and are used to working with Groups headquartered out of India. Your inter-personal skills enable you to communicate with many persons, at different levels of the Group in India and abroad.

Profile:

  • Work experience: minimum 12 years & preferred 14 years as a lawyer in an international Group, with a large background on entertainment and music. You are experienced on contract processing and deployment and control of Group processes.
  • Handled M&A related aspects in your experience.
  • Fluent English is essential (written and spoken), with legal practice. English is the main language used within the Group.
  • Preferable experience in company secretarial matters (board management & compliance).

Content Quality Leader

The Job

As part of Operations team, TuneCore is currently looking for a Content Quality Lead based in Mumbai.


The Content Quality Lead reports directly to the Content quality Senior Leader, India and all the local content specialists reports to him/her. The person shall have the following tasks:
•Responsible to ensure with the team for the Content validation/Processing of all releases in the timeline including all commercial priority content are processed for the zone within 24h
•Train the new supervisors/Agents on Content Review guidelines and best practices, using the Content Review Tool, audio fingerprinting, and Zendesk emails.
•Assist with escalations from the Content Review team and communicate with customers by email regarding formatting and potential copyright related issues.
•Music management, understanding metadata, and staying current with music trends.
•Maintain accurate documentation of all activity and ensuring it is updated for the reference to be used for on-boarding and for supervisors to train their agents.
•Review “Unsatisfied” ratings on Content Review tickets in Zendesk and handle any high priority email escalations.
•Research and find patterns to prevent unsanctioned activity. Investigate potential occurrences of unsanctioned activity and report to upper management.
•Review TuneCore releases via an audio fingerprinting process to prevent fraud and ensure metadata consistency.
•Ability to prepare multiple weekly meetings related to staffing, agent productivity and quality metrics, trends, etc.
•Share the good practices inside the teams
•Report and analyse the figures on the region they are responsible in order to improve the process
•Provide content backup on specific territories when needed
•Get the help of the PPP/training manager for training needs or iTunes ticket needs.
•Ensure that the training on both region are well spread
•Has the ability to create a team of 20 members staffing from the scratch and make a successful team with efficiency and effectiveness

Qualifications

•Bachelors/Master’s degree

•Digital friendly Knowledge about music content ingestion
•Good understanding on Music Genres
•Minimum of 8+ years of experience in content quality and validation check
•Should have managed the team of atleast 10 people (preferably team roasters with day and night shifts)
•Extremely competent Communication skills
•Proven experience in Zendesk is a Plus
•Organized, reliable and independent

As an Account Manager – Label you will lead a portfolio of strategic clients and define with your manager the best solutions to maximize client satisfactions and services execution. You will also contribute to new client’s acquisition by implementing our sales strategy 

Thanks to a perfect understanding of our products and client’s needs, a solid sales strategy, and an in-depth thinking of the music market you will be able to lead a team, achieve sales objectives and manage a portfolio of labels.

You will directly report into the Business Development – Senior Leader

Location: Chennai

Missions: 

1. After Sales strategy and emerging artists / labels lookout  

  • Onboard and train clients to use Believe’s own tech solutions for distribution and marketing (Believe Backstage, Backlink, Datamusic).
  • Manage a Customer Relation Management dashboard.
  • Lead complex after sales discussions with an innovative approach 
  • Analyze and keep track of sales performance.

2. Services execution and management of a portfolio of labels   

  • Manage of portfolio of labels and identify customer satisfaction KPIs 
  • Ensure cross-functional collaboration with the Head of Trade Marketing & Video Services to optimize flawless execution 
  • Escalate client feedback and contribute to overall services improvement  
  • Maintain close relationships and communication with the labels and their project teams and become an integral component of their business and team as a whole and on specific key artist projects.

Preferred Skills:

  • Passionate about technology, data and artists / label development 
  • Experience in the music industry within a distributor, record label, management company preferred. Previous account management experience is a plus.
  • A good knowledge of the current Indian and regional music market, digital landscape, and trends.
  • Tamil and Malayalam language knowledge proficiency 
  • The ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple labels and projects simultaneously and to timelines with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to the changing market.
  • Extremely digital savvy and quick to adopt trends.
  • Strong relationship building skills and a team-oriented approach.
  • Creative interest in digital technologies and digital marketing opportunities especially the streaming landscape.
  • A diligent self-starter who is ready to learn and will also take the initiative

Senior Leader – IT

The Job

Responsibilities:  

This role would be responsible for managing and supervising organization’s technical operations which includes overseeing IT department employees and ensuring all technology systems and applications support the organization’s goals and objectives. 

This role would directly report to the IT Workplace Director with a dotted line reporting to the People Director, India 

Technical Expertise: 

  • Overseeing all IT operations, network support, IT security and IT infrastructure. 

  • Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of business objectives 

  • Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency. 

  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating IT projects in line with organizational objectives. 

  • Ensuring the maintenance of current projects and technology systems. 

  • Identifying vulnerabilities, the need for upgrades, configurations or opportunities for new systems.  

  • Proposing strategic solutions and recommending new systems and software.

  • Implement best practices for incident management, problem resolution, and knowledge management within the team. 

  • Collaborate with Central / Regional IT teams to implement system enhancements and improvements based on user feedback and other performance metrics. 

Scope:  

  • Central IT / APAC HUB: 70% 

  • India Specific: 30% minimum for existing set up. Basis additional requirements, this role will take on Project management and Governance responsibilities for additional projects that are rolled out in the course of the subsequent years.  

Preferred Skills:  

  • At least 7 years of management experience in an IT environment. 

  • Sound working knowledge of IT operations, systems, and developments. 

  • Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications. 

  • Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Strong leadership and project management skills. 

  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
