Copyright Assistant

The Job

The Copyright Team sits within Sentric’s Rights division. Its objectives are:

  • To ensure accurate and timely registration of client’s copyrights around the world.
  • To maximise revenue streams from all potential sources.
  • To identify areas of potential income growth for client’s catalogues.
  • To partner with internal teams to ensure client expectations are exceeded, ensuring significant retention and renewal levels are maintained.
  • To ensure clients are at the centre of all activity, ensuring Sentric´s ethos of fairness, transparency and customer focus is evident at all times.

The Copyright Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Rights team in the administration of clients’ copyrights. They will interact with clients, collection societies and other interested parties to facilitate effective global administration of copyrights.

Your missions are :

Copyright Administration       

  • Assist with answering basic client copyright queries from other publishers and Performing Rights Organisations.
  • Assist with resolving copyright conflicts/counterclaims.
  • Assist with termination of copyright claims
  • Assist with data enrichment in system.
  • Assist wider team with Copyright queries.

Rights Management & Client Management Support
 

  • Assist with special projects initiated by the wider Rights team division, Client Managers and Director of Rights, ensuring a qualitative and timely resolution of assigned project tasks.
  • Assist Rights team with ad hoc duties to cover holiday periods etc.

Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle large data sets
  • Keen attention to detail, accuracy and detail-driven
  • Demonstrable, prioritisation, organisation and deadline management skills required
  • High level of numeracy
  • Basic excel skills are preferred

Royalty Matching Assistant

The Job

Reporting to: Royalty Processing Manager, Head of Royalties

Department Objectives

The Royalty Team performs a key role in the Music Publishing cycle, ensuring accurate and timely payment of client’s royalties. Our aim is to provide a first class experience to our clients by:

  • Efficiently Processing Incoming Statements.
  • Accurately Matching Income.
  • Accelerate Client Payments.
  • Enhance Data Quality.
  • Constantly looking to improve and evolve processes.

Job Summary

The royalty matching assistant will be responsible for supporting the Royalties team with a focus on ensuring accurate matching of income. They will interact with various departments internally to maximise the accuracy of all royalty matching and enhance the quality of song data.

Job Description

Royalty Matching Administration       

  • Daily review of unmatched income, ensuring full matching of all received income.
  • Weekly reporting of identified matches.
  • Review, identify and resolve any share conflicts with Rights Team.
  • Ensure accurate Society Work Numbers are recorded and correct on all versions of Songs and assist with data enrichment exercises.
  • Provide Client Management with unmatched works list for managed clients.
  • Assist wider team with additional Royalty tasks.

Additional Support

Business Development Executive – Publishing (b:electronic)

The Job

As Business Development Executive you will share responsibility for delivering the b:electronic teams objectives to drive growth, deliver excellent service and maximise client value .  You will source external prospects for b:electronic from your network of managers, labels, artists, songwriters and producers, using market analysis and strong interpersonal and sales skills. You will also work closely with Believe Music Regional teams to identify publishing and neighbouring rights opportunities from within the distribution client base. From initial discussions through to sign up, you will be able to identify client needs and negotiate the best fit products and solutions, whilst working with internal teams to exceed client expectations, ensuring maximum levels of retention, renewal and referral.

Job Description

Business Development 

  • Contribute to above target new business growth through the identification of opportunities and client acquisition.
  • Work across the publishing and neighbouring rights sales process ensuring a seamless, first class onboarding experience for our clients using agile work practices and consistent communication
  • Maximise cross sales opportunities for the entire b:electronic client range working with key stakeholders across the business
  • Ensure the highest level of service and client retention through a close partnership with the Client Services team on issues, opportunities and reviews
  • Be responsible for advance appraisals, liaising with Senior Management and the Finance team to calculate and complete offers.
  • Be responsible for timely and accurate delivery of offers and long form contracts, in partnership with the Legal and Business Affairs team
  • Represent b:electronic at Industry events and be a key b:electronic ambassador online, in press and in person.
  • Communicate effectively with team, management team, leadership and stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with artists, writers, managers and business clients at all levels.

Research / Reporting

  • Work with wider teams to compile, record and analyse statistical information as required to report on the teams performance
  • Evaluate and research business leads

Development

  • Seek ways in which to improve and implement personal, team and business performance surrounding business development activities.

Qualifications

  • Min 3 years of experience with a proven track record in a publisher, label, DSP, management company or booking agent
  • Critically, you are passionate about electronic music and with a network of contacts and deep understanding of the genre’s ecosystem and the functions within it
  • You can demonstrate initiative, problem solving, accountability, and team spirit.
  • You are at ease with data manipulation & formatting and are able to draw actionable insights from data
  • You have a self-starter mindset and are highly organised
  • Able to describe how global copyrights and rights organisations operate and are governed
  • An understanding of global copyright administration is ideal, as well as an understanding of royalty matching and processing

Finance Analyst

The Job

The Finance Analyst will work as part of the Liverpool-based Finance team, reporting to the Head of Finance. The role is predominantly office-based; we have recently moved to a new office right in the centre of the city. We envisage this as a full-time role but we would consider applications from candidates who would prefer to work part time or to work non-standard work patterns (requests should be included in your job application).

 

The successful candidate will focus on completing royalty accounting entries and analysing royalty data. Typical duties will include:

 

  • Bank Reconciliations –reconciling cash receipts and booking of royalty data in the accounting system
  • Effective communication with artists, writers, artist managers and business clients at all levels
  • Royalty analysis – analysing royalty notifications to ensure they agree to cash received; creating cash bookings from the data in the finance ledger; working proactively with the royalty team to investigate and correct discrepancies
  • Variance Reporting – creating report analysing and explaining variances in revenue received compared to budget and forecasts.
  • Updating forecasts based on outcomes of variance analysis
  • Tax – preparing Withholding Tax forms; applying to HMRC for certificates of residence; liaising with international payers to provide information on tax status
  • Liaison with Legal and Business Affairs teams to help ensure timely and accurate delivery of offers and long form contracts
  • Artist advances appraisal – assisting with the artist advances appraisal process
  • Ad hoc finance tasks

Job Summary 

The Manager: Revenue Optimisation will lead on ensuring all opportunities to fully maximise potential sources of publishing related income are identified and maximised. They will use their knowledge of additional royalty generating opportunities to give direction on areas of focus for the Live Claims and Income Tracking teams. They will oversee the work of the audit team (in collaboration with the Copyright Assurance Officer and Insights Team), using data analysis to identify any actions required to ensure everything is in place to allow for maximum revenue optimisation.

Live Claims

Audit 

  • Provide direction on focus of audit activity. 

  • Working across teams with result of audit information to ensure actions are taken to optimise revenue. 

  • Work with Insights, Audit & Copyright Officer Assurance Officer to provide reports to Director of Rights on performance of CMO’s in relation to catalogue registrations.
