Americas Senior Accountant (M/W/D)

The Job

Experienced accountant managing the treasury and accounting aspects of a scope of entities in the Americas and supporting finance analyses as long as the development of the finance framework (processes, tools, …).

In an international environment, you are expected to proceed the compliance of the entities of your scope (including accounting, financial & tax compliance, …) while accompanying the evolutions of the scope.

Responsibilities:

Scope

  • Handle accounting of several legal entities in the Americas Region
  • Handle payment procedures for several entities of the Americas Region
  • Support process, tools and practices development and implementation

Accounting

  • Handle day-to-day accounting on SAGE for several legal entities in the Americas scope
  • Prepare general ledger entries/balances and identify anomalies
  • Prepare monthly Trial Balance, Balance Sheet & P&L reports
  • Prepare reporting of accounts on monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis
  • Proceed with compliance with local GAAPs
  • Assist corporate teams on need basis for global consolidation of accounts
  • Support financial audits and limited reviews
  • Coordinate with external firms and consultants related to finance work
  • Implement financial controls and systems in coordination with corporate teams

Treasury

  • Support bank operability with corporate treasury team
  • Proceed with payment processes
  • Monitor funding needs

Compliance

  • Coordinate the external firm for statutory, regulatory and tax compliance (e.g. yearly Financial Statements, VAT, corporate income tax, …)
  • Support, with an external firm, the statutory/tax/transfer pricing audits
  • Monitor communication and relationship with local administrations

Others

  • Support business teams in their needs on financial/administrative topics
  • Support projects and requests from other departments, units and subsidiaries of the Company for various activities
  • Identify control issues, errors and efficiency opportunities

 

     

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • Education – Finance/Audit/Accounting
    • 10-years minimum of Experience in accounting preferably with an experience in an international group

    Mandatory Skills:

    • Ability to autonomously manage accounting and coordinate with third-party provider to ensure compliance of a local entity
    • Ability to work in a dynamic environment such as lack of well-defined procedures and changing work mix
    • Will to improve the finance framework of the dedicated scope
    • Fluent written and verbal communication in English and people skill is essential

    Business Developer – Music Distribution (M/W/D)

    The Job

    Our mission is to accompany labels & artists at every level of their development with passion, innovation, care, and transparency.  

    As a Business Developper you will implement the sourcing and acquisitions strategy for artists on our Distribution and Artist Services Offers.   

    Utilizing your network, market analysis, business and artist relations, you will be able to source and identify artists who would require any of our Distribution or Artist services. Carrying out first discussions with the artists and their management, you will be able to identify their needs and share the perfect offer with your local head of sales or artist services. You will participate in the contract negotiation and coordinate the transfer of the artists to our project management or artist relations team.  

     

    Responsibilities:   

    1/ Identify new and emerging artist leads  

    • Contribute to company growth by sourcing new artists leads for the Believe roster in the MENA region with a main focus on Egyptian & GCC Markets, Pop & Rap genres. 

    • Scan public websites, charts companies, Believe proprietary database and third party analytics tools to identify the right talents 

    • Attend meetings, gigs, showcases, conferences and other events to represent Believe and scout for new leads in Egypt mainly. 

    • Source through your existing network and build partnerships with a network of talent detection third parties 

    2/ Qualify artists potential, and align service offerings with their needs and expectations 

    • Assess artists potential, estimate deal value and collect artists information to populate CRM activity  

    • Build knowledge of company’s different types of deals to cater to the artists’ needs 

    • Manage and update strong sales pipeline on the company’s CRM system on a daily basis  

    • Present opportunities to your local internal team and coordinate with Head of label and Artist Solutions and Artist Services to validate deal offers that align with Believe’s commercial strategy and regional expansion goals.   

    • Carry out meetings with prospective clients to pitch our services and follow up through negotiations until signing. 

    3/ Support the development of a growing local artist roster by facilitating cross-collaboration projects and pitching local talents to Believe’s Global A&R team to facilitate international project collaborations. 

    4/ Identify Market Trends and market dynamics and report to management  

    • Audit and identify emerging Artists market trend  

    • Inform internal team about market evolution 

    • Build strong relationships with artists, management and the local industry (music lawyers etc.) 

    Qualifications

    • +7 years of proven track record in the MENA recorded music industry and experience in negotiation 

    • A solid network in the music industry, especially in Pop & Rap genres 

    • Artist focused and passionate about the Independent Music Industry with a good knowledge of the independent ecosystem and digital landscape.  

    • Ability to be both creative and data driven. 

    • Ability to meet deadlines, targets and multitask in a fast-paced environment with a proactive attitude. 

    • Extremely digital savvy and quick to adopt trends. 

    • Strong relationship building skills and team-oriented approach. 

    • Available to work some evenings and to travel internationally as may be required. 

    • Fluent English is mandatory to succeed in your role as part of a global company. French can be a plus. 

    • Ability to understand numbers and data efficiently and experience in working with sales projections and deal valuations. 

    • Solid financial analysis skills, including understanding of key profitability metrics and KPIs. 

    • Ability to interpret and model financial data to support decision-making. 

    • Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative, remote environment with colleagues and management.
