Regional Coordinator, UK

The Job

TuneCore is seeking a London-based Regional Coordinator to work across our local operations, reporting to the Head of TuneCore UK, Canada & Australia. This is a great opportunity for a driven, self-motivated individual to support the growth of a key TuneCore territory, at an exciting time for the business.

This person will be the main support to the Head of TuneCore UK, Canada and Australia, forming a nimble, proactive and ambitious team. They will be comfortable using an insights-led approach to allow us to reach ambitious growth targets for the UK, across client acquisition, brand awareness, artist support and Marketing. S/he will be comfortable working with Partners, running Artist + Marketing campaigns and also the TuneCore UK social media accounts – understanding voice and content creation, with a focus on brand guidelines and collaboration with TuneCore central. 

S/he must have strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, an entrepreneurial spirit and no fear rolling up his/her sleeves to get the job done. A passion for music and technology is a must, alongside an interest in the culture and movements around music and creators, particularly in the independent sector. Strong cross-functional collaboration skills are critical, as are strong relationship-building skills, with an ability to interact with people across all levels and cultures, internally and externally.


Tasks + Responsibilities

The tasks and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to

  • Managing, alongside the Head of territory, the local strategic growth plan for UK to meet local market needs, drive growth and increase market penetration

  • Help develop and implement local marketing campaigns and partnerships to accelerate client acquisition, build competitive advantage and grow brand awareness in the Region

  • Using a metrics-led approach, ensuring all activity is quantifiable

  • Research, analyse and identify local market trends and conduct local competitive analysis to improve TuneCore’s product offering, marketing initiatives and localisation strategy

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Central Team on localisation of artist support, brand partnerships, marketing programs, PR initiatives and product launches

  • Build strong relationships with artists, management teams and partners

  • Run the local social media channels for the UK, from ideation, posting, community management and communications

  • Run analyses and reporting across all activity, providing actionable insights into metrics, issues and opportunities

  • Build concise presentations that summarise your findings and lead to clear recommendations, share your work cross-functionally

  • Lead specific projects from project design, to operational execution, tracking, and scale-up

  • Partnering with Product, Marketing and Business Development teams to localise websites including language, pricing, payment and market specific product offerings to meet local market needs and increase conversion.

Director, International Strategy & Operations

The Job

Reporting to the Vice President, International, this is a great opportunity for a highly driven, self- motivated individual to support the planning and delivery of global strategic initiatives, which result in scaling international growth and expansion for TuneCore. This role is ideal for someone looking to join a fast-paced, rapidly growing company, who can support leading TuneCore into its next phase of growth.

This person will act as the right-hand to the VP, International; supporting global strategy and planning but also operationalising the creation, communication, and execution of key initiatives in a scalable, measurable and impactful way. S/he will support all aspects of international market development – from initial research and analysis, through to entrance and expansion into high-opportunity markets – as well as help to develop a deep understanding of the voice of the customer.

S/he is data-driven with a proven track record of using an insights-led planning approach. They will be willing to experiment, take risks and move quickly. S/he must have strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, the ability to both lead and roll up his/her sleeves to get the job done. A passion for music and technology is a must, and strong cross-functional collaboration skills are critical, as are strong relationship-building skills, with an ability to interact with people across all levels and cultures – in addition to working with senior leadership, s/he will also work with our parent company, Believe SA.

Tasks + Responsibilities

The tasks and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to

  • Leading the development and execution of TuneCore’s international market expansion strategy

  • Establishing an insights-led approach with the International Team, ensuring that strategy and planning are roadmapped based on business / customer requirements and priorities

  • Developing benchmark criteria to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of market development and localisation initiatives, ensuring suitable metrics are in place to measure performance and progress

  • Collaborating with leadership and management to execute and oversee strategic and business initiatives

  • Partnering with Believe Managing Directors in each market (Believe is TuneCore’s parent company) to identify, propose, implement and optimise TuneCore’s localisation programs.

  • Ensuring seamless collaboration and communication between Central Marketing and Country Managers, keeping both teams abreast and aligned on global and local campaigns and segmentation strategies.

  • Own analyses and reporting that provide actionable insights into metrics, issues and opportunities

  • Complement your quantitative insights with qualitative data, competitive analysis, customer interviews etc.

  • Build concise presentations that summarise your findings and lead to clear recommendations, share your work cross-functionally

  • Lead specific growth projects, informed by your analyses, from project design, to operational execution, tracking, and scale-up

  • Conduct data analysis, market research, and user research to identify opportunities

  • Partnering with Product, Marketing and Business Development teams to localise websites including language, pricing, payment and market specific product offerings to meet local market needs and increase conversion.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience in a digital focused organization

  • 5+ years international experience

  • Management consulting experience at a top firm, or a similarly analytical role at a fast-growth startup or technology company preferred

Senior Project Manager

The Job

TuneCore Engineering develops web applications in the music space supporting our talented customers and internal operations. We are a leader in developing services for a global platform for independent artists. As a Senior Project manager, you will lead cross functional teams through new product development efforts that create value for our clients and our company. This individual will coordinate projects from concept to delivery. You will interact with internal stakeholders across multiple departments, product managers, engineers, customer support and marketing as part of leading projects across the finish line. 


We’re looking for an experienced project manager with a strong background in both waterfall and agile (scrum) project management methodologies to actively lead projects to an on budget, on scope and on schedule delivery.  This individual must be an excellent communicator, be well versed in creating detailed project plans, as well as experience in providing status updates to senior stakeholders. You will be responsible for end to end delivery of cross workstream projects in support of TuneCore technology and product roadmaps.

Salary: $135k+

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and organization: Deliver projects on-budget and on-schedule, including planning, organizing, tracking and reporting on detailed project plans across multiple work streams (schedule management, status reporting, stakeholder management).

  • Project coordination: Partner with the various workstreams (marketing, product, technology etc.) to drive engagement and partnership in the deliverables and ensure successful delivery within business expectations.

  • Communication: Provide timely communications to stakeholders in planning, tracking, documenting and communicating status updates for the portfolio. 

  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies and develop plans to escalate mitigations. 

  • Documentation: Ensure that decisions and outstanding tasks as they relate to projects are properly documented. Create stakeholder documentation

  • Tools: Utilize enterprise project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet and other applications to provide project status and reporting

  • Talent management: Oversee the guidance, mentorship, and professional development of a project manager, ensuring their growth and effectiveness within the project management team.

  • If required, may step into a Scrum Master role, facilitating agile ceremonies such as planning and estimation exercises for a small project based scrum team.

  • Possess team-building, motivating, and conflict-resolving qualities 

  • Highly organized and detail oriented, ability to keep track of multiple simultaneous projects and action items.

Qualifications

 

  • Must have 7+ years of experience working as a project manager delivering large, cross functional projects.

  • Experience Waterfall methodology as well as familiarity with agile (Scrum) methodologies.

  • Strong communication skills with experience creating status reporting and communicating with senior stakeholders.

Senior Accountant

The Job

Join our team as a Senior Accountant, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the financial integrity of our organization. Working closely with the Controller, you’ll drive month-end closing procedures and champion meticulous documentation of our accounting policies. Your expertise will be instrumental in evaluating and proposing internal controls, empowering us to minimize risks and optimize our financial operations. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about leveraging their public accounting background to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic and growing company.

Salary: $83,000-95,000

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with month-end closing tasks, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Develop and maintain company accounting policies and procedures.
  • Stay current with the latest accounting principles and compliance standards.
  • Document and execute internal control processes, identify potential risks, and suggest risk mitigation strategies.
  • Review tax filings and ensure accuracy of current and deferred tax provision calculations.
  • Lead the process of unclaimed property reporting and filings.
  • Drive ongoing process enhancements by streamlining and automating procedures.

 

Qualifications

  • CPA license required.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience including 2-3 years of public accounting
  • Thorough understanding of US GAAP accounting principles, procedures, and internal controls.

Manager, Fraud Prevention

The Job

The Manager, Fraud Prevention will liaise directly with TuneCore artists, TuneCore’s store partners, and a number of internal teams for all issues related to streaming and financial fraud. They will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Fraud Prevention team, and work collaboratively with TuneCore’s Legal, Product, Artist Support, and other Operations teams to ensure the integrity of our processes, policies, and procedures.

Additionally, they will be responsible for assisting and leading activities around account investigations, abnormal or suspicious account activity relating to account takeover and distribution, monitoring streaming reports for trends of abuse, managing withdrawals, and chargebacks. 

The ideal candidate should be a seasoned operations professional with demonstrated experience managing/leading teams and working directly with clients, and has a deep knowledge of process, policy, and procedure with experience in fraud or trust & safety in the music industry. They are a strategic thinker, but can also roll up their sleeves, dig in and support the team to get the job done.

Salary Range: $85,000-90,000

Specific Duties:

  • Identify trends and key insights to help minimize fraud, including but not limited to reports of artificial streaming or streaming fraud/abuse, suspicious account creation, copyright infringement.
  • Research investigate patterns to prevent unsanctioned activity.
  • Communicate with customers, partners, and third parties via email and phone regarding suspicious activity/inquiries, addressing issues with speed and efficiency and ensuring that queues in Zendesk are closely monitored.
  • Handle escalations and questions from Fraud Prevention Specialists.
  • Assist with reviewing customer withdrawal requests and evaluate withdrawals for suspicious and malicious activity.
  • Train new agents on fraud prevention and monitoring concepts and procedures, and work with management on developing and refining strategies to support organic growth with limited resources, increase efficiency of the team and processes, and expand our coverage to new products and needs.
  • Provide reporting on customer and product issues.
  • Work with a team on special projects as needed.
  • Report technical and communication issues in order to better service TuneCore artists.
  • Maintain accurate SOP documentation of all activity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience working in a Fraud Prevention, Fraud Detection, or Trust & Safety role.

  • At least one year of experience working in an office and/or customer service in-person, via telephone, and/or via email.

Education:

With over 1600 respondents from 109 countries, this year’s study includes an increased focus on global reach and adopts an intersectional approach that accounts for respondents’ ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability status, parental status, location, and age among other factors.  

Our intent for this study is to inspire meaningful change in the industry.

Content Specialist, Artist + Partner Relations

The Job

TuneCore’s Artist and Partner Relations team works with our artist community, DSP and industry partners, and internal teams to provide best-in-class digital distribution. Reporting to the Manager of Artist & Partner Relations, the Content Specialist, will join our team and help drive the company’s commitment to independent artists and labels.

 

Job Purpose:

The Content Specialist role plays a crucial part in maximizing the visibility and impact of our artists’ music across digital platforms. This position focuses on advocating for our artists’ content with our Partners, and securing placements and promotional opportunities while supporting the goals of the Artist and Partner Relations team and TuneCore at large. Central to our mission, this role supports artist development and our label clients.

By leveraging strategic insights and data, developing impactful relationships, providing tailored pitches, and monetizing audio with Content ID, the Content Specialist directly contributes to enhancing our artists’ digital footprint and audience reach. Central to our mission, this role supports artist development and our label clients by identifying and securing the best possible programming for optimal exposure on our partner platforms. The ultimate goal is to help elevate our artists’ profiles and add to their overall development.

In this role, you will also support the Sr. Manager, Artist and Partner Relations, in areas they work within, including artist and partner relations, release strategies and success, brand marketing collaborations, and more.

Independent music industry landscapes are constantly evolving. The successful Content Specialist will demonstrate accountability and ownership through proactive communication, commitment to results, and a problem-solving mentality to ensure their success and client satisfaction.

You will organize priority releases and assets for submission to partner platforms and branded promotions, and coordinate playlisted and featured release tracking. You will manage asset requests and deliveries across stakeholders for ongoing and one-off projects, and maintain client and partner databases, and label clients in TuneCore Studio.

 

What you’ll bring:

Passion for Independent Music and Industry Knowledge: A genuine passion for music and a deep understanding of the digital music ecosystem, including how DSPs and social media platforms operate, artist marketing, and the challenges faced by independent artists and labels. A desire to make a positive impact on our artists’ careers.

Strong Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills. You will need to articulate the unique value of an artists’ music compellingly and clearly to DSPs, as well as communicate skillfully with internal teams, partners, artists, and clients.

Strategic Mindset: The ability to effectively collaborate on the development of trade marketing strategies that align with both client and company goals. This includes understanding and keeping current on programming, promotional and feature opportunities, changes to DSP and social media platforms, and leveraging data to make informed pitches.

Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong, healthy relationships with TuneCore’s teams, partner representatives, artists, and clients. This role requires someone who is personable, responsible, and capable of nurturing long-term partnerships.

Organizational Skills: Have strong planning and scheduling skills to ensure successful pitching and cross-team collaborations. Effective task, time and information management skills are paramount, as is attention to detail and the ability to multitask.

Accountability and Ownership: Demonstrate through proactive communication, a commitment to results, a problem-solving mentality, and meticulous management of priority releases to ensure success and client satisfaction.

Adaptability and Flexibility: The ability to adapt to a constantly evolving landscape, and efficiently and effectively respond to new trends, platform changes, or artist and business needs is essential.

Analytical Skills: The ability to analyze data, understand performance metrics, and derive actionable insights to inform strategies and measure success.

Problem-Solving Abilities: The ability to navigate challenges and overcome obstacles to achieve desired outcomes. Creativity and resourcefulness in problem-solving are vital. Cultural Sensitivity: Understanding and respect for diverse cultural backgrounds of our colleagues, artists, clients, and partners. Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

End-to-end coordination of TuneCore’s Pitch program:

  • Submit weekly pitches to our DSP and social media partners for editorial coverage, revising and editing pitch submissions, as needed.
  • Collect and organize weekly priority pitch submissions and artist assets.
  • Incorporate analytics to craft compelling narratives that bolster our artists’ release campaigns.
  • Create a standardized process to obtain long-lead release information from VIP clients.
  • Create and manage a short- and long-lead release calendar of upcoming release priorities.
  • Coordinate release priorities with the Partner Specialist.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to maximize the visibility and performance of content on various DSPs.
  • Identify releases with global interest and crossover potential, and collaborate with ex-US stakeholders, as needed.
  • Stay current on digital trends, and updates to partner programming and products. Attend partner webinars and share this knowledge internally and to clients at scale.
  • Strategize with the APR team on internal and external cultural campaign curation.
  • Educate clients on the benefits of monetization and Content ID, and coordinate opt-ins.
  • Present pitching and promotional ideas and concepts to manager and team.
  • Coordinate the delivery of playlisting and promotional assets.
  • Collect, record and organize secured editorial, promotional and programming opportunities.

 

Artist and Partner Relations tasks and projects:

  • Curate and coordinate TuneCore’s weekly NMF playlist and NMF Featured Artist promotion.
  • Coordinate end-to-end RIAA certification requests from TuneCore clients.
  • Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)in a monthly report and regularly update internal stakeholders. Meet department KPI goals. Include supporting analytics.
  • Record notes for client and partner meetings, and share with the APR team.
  • Maintain client and partner databases.
  • Create or update process documents on the projects you manage.
