Head of Sales – Believe Canada

The Job

The Head of Distribution – Canada region will be primarily responsible for driving sales and managing execution of the company’s sales strategy for the Canada region. You will lead a team of local label, trade marketing, and video channel managers, operating across the specified region and ensure their sales performance and execution. You will be able to conduct projection of your business, develop strategic plans, define and execute established OKRs, and analyze the performance and trends of each market within the region to the top management.  


1/ Sales & Sourcing Strategy Definition  

  • Partner closely with Managing Director, Believe Americas, to align on Believe Canada business objectives. Regionally, drive new business with focus to expand market and new clients in Ontario and other new provinces   

  • Develop new business and sales strategies for Canadian market. Empower Senior Label Managers and teams to participate

  • Build and develop a team of experienced sales professionals through strategic planning and execution 

  • Accurately forecast sales cycles 

  • Own full sales cycle, including but not limited to prospecting, pitching, relationship management, contract negotiation, signature. Coordinate with necessary stakeholders such as legal, finance, communications, video, marketing, et al.   

  • Responsible for account review, account management and client renewals. Investigate client performance and propose new business opportunities 

  • Maintain current network of music industry relations; key objective to grow Believe network in Ontario and additional regions   

  • Deliver against set OKRs 

  • Work with a broad range of internal teams, including partnerships, product, marketing, operations, content, analytics and the executive team to support the sales efforts 

  • Operational Excellence: Key stakeholder regarding all internal and external sales processes

2/ Team Management   

  • Ensure our organization is adapted to reach our business objectives  

  • Define team wide OKRs; communicate objectives and align with team to support execution 

  • Collaborate across all Americas regions – critical to work closely with stakeholders in Canada, US and LATAM locations. Work closely with Central Believe stakeholders as well 

  • Full ownership of all performance management processes, including but not limited to: performance review campaigns, compensation reviews, learning and development plans 

3/ Reporting, Quarterly Business Reviews, Data Analytics 

  • Audit current reporting process & propose improvements; coordinate efficiencies between local and Regional teams 

  • Report all business and sales achievements for top management  

  • Capture, organize and report on sales data; interpret and analyze market trends, sales drivers, business opportunities, performance shifts 

4/ Local Digital Store relationships  

  • Develop good relationships with retailers at global level 


  • 15 + years’ experience working in the region, with sales management 

  • Familiarity negotiating contracts 

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills – solutions focused 

  • Proactive, product-forward focus 

  • Experience managing and developing team of direct reports 

  • Outstanding communication and organization skills 

  • Ability to use and analyze data and use it to inform sales strategies 

  • Strong negotiation skills 

  • Strong knowledge in music across all genres 

  • Work efficiently to meet and exceed goals 

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required 

  • English fluency a must, French and/or Spanish speaking preferred 

  • Position is based in Toronto, Ontario
