The Senior Product Manager – Finance will be responsible for managing the team/squad responsible for creating, managing, operationalizing and tracking the Finance-related features and products critical to TuneCore’s continued market leadership. As the Senior Product Manager – Finance, you will lead the effort to establish the roadmap for all financial products and features, manage the delivery of the features from conception to launch, followed by a measurement of the feature’s success. You will play an important role in the product team and you will work with teams across the organization. 

This role requires experience in managing teams, and strong domain experience building products in E-Commerce and FinTech. a focus on tax and regulatory compliance, subscription billing, payment processing, invoicing and revenue accounting. The candidate must have an analytical background, a focus on the user, a commitment to action-oriented analysis, a thirst for continuous learning and the dual ability to be a strategic thinker and be hands-on in an evolving, entrepreneurial environment.

The tasks and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Product Management

  • Deep understanding of his/her part of the business and his/her product at TuneCore and how it fits with the company’s overall business and products. 

  • Ability to develop a structured approach to build a strategic understanding of his/her business, an intimate knowledge of his/her operations and a product vision through discussions & work sessions with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders and competitive benchmarking.

  • Driving effective finance product strategy and execution that incorporates international tax and regulatory compliance

  • Responsibility to achieve optimal operations performance from his/her operations manager and to design & build the best product to achieve business objectives.   

  • Manage the Finance squad on the Product Team

  • Drive product development, from conception to launch, of the products and product solutions associated with financial systems — both consumer-facing features and back-end systems

  • Delegate to team members and manage accordingly

  • Define, prioritize, and communicate short and long-term product goals for E-Commerce and Customer Finance

  • Develop an understanding of customers by conducting research, data analysis, customer interviews, and usability testing, as necessary

  • Partner with engineering, marketing, finance and customer operations to bring new products and features to market, including activities like launch messaging and customer support. 

  • Identify and track essential qualitative and quantitative metrics for evaluating the impact of the product initiatives you lead, and for informing future decisions 

  • Work collaboratively to ensure consistency across all TuneCore products

  • Write product requirements, develop user flows and mock-ups based on stakeholder feedback. 

  • Define the “What” and the “Who” and manage delivery. Be able to breakdown goals and strategies into actionable deliverables and milestones

  • Propose new features and products for approval by senior management, outlining the “Why”, and work cross-functionally to build business case and define ROI

  • Manage and update product documentation such as Business Requirement Documents, Product Requirement Documents, use cases, user flows/stories, flows, and functional specs

  • Support prioritization of feature backlog and support management of the development queue

  • Assist in determining the best technical implementation methods with the engineering team, work closely with QA on acceptance testing and support product launches

  • Drive metrics-based optimizations to the product —striking the right balance between fixing bugs while enhancing and launching new features

  • Work with third party vendors to implement new features and manage day-to-day issues

  • Proactively build knowledge base to intimately know the market, product, product line and competition

  • Keeps abreast on what’s happening within the digital and music industry and proactively shares strategic insights with the leadership team

  • Strong knowledge of industry best practices and competitive landscape

Qualifications

Experience:

  • 8-10 years of product management experience in a FinTech environment with cross border expertise preferred

  • 5 years of experience in a Product Leadership or Technical Architecture role building Lead-to-Cash products

  • Experience with developing products in the financial services sector and/or at a FinTech company

  • Product leadership experience on end-to-end E-Commerce platforms

  • Experience working with products for Global taxation – US Sales tax, EU VAT, GST

  • Experience working with payment gateways for Credit and Debit card processing, for merchant and user-initiated payments

  • Experience working with General Ledger reports and interfaces with ERP platforms

  • Experience with managing teams

  • Demonstrable track record of building, launching and managing digital fintech products and services

  • Track record of FinTech solutions with solid examples of products you have initiated, owned and delivered.

  • Experience with waterfall and agile methodologies

  • Proven track record in working collaboratively across functional areas to drive results – can interact effectively with representatives from teams such as Finance, Technology, Legal, Operations and Marketing

  • Strong technical understanding (development methodologies, phases, etc.)

  • Strong hands-on experience with Relational Databases

  • Experience with financial services as a product manager and end-user

  • Strong ownership, communication, and presentation skills

  • Ability to quickly translate and communicate complex problems or concepts

  • Demonstrate thoroughness, follow-up, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and work under shifting deadlines

  • Bonus points for knowledge of the digital music industry

  • Bonus points for multi-Industry experience and experience working on US and global platforms

  • Exceptional communication, analytical and interpersonal skills

 

Education:

  • BS or BA degree, or higher

Knowledge/Certifications:

  • Well-rounded education of how the music industry operates.

  • Understanding of Solution Architecture and best practices in the Lead-to-Quote and Quote-to-Cash space

  • Knowledge of financial services – rating, taxation, billing, invoicing, payments, refunds and ledger reporting

  • Knowledge of Tax (W) forms and earnings reports as per US Tax regulation
