A&R Scout

The Job

We are looking for a passionate and ambitious A&R Scout to join our growing team. Based in London, this role is tasked with identifying unsigned artists and signing new talent.  

  

Responsibilities include

  • Identify and source new talent to support Believe’s artist acquisition strategy in the UK  

  • Use internal and external platforms and tools to scout talent by analysing data, monitoring various channels and evaluating unsigned artists 

  • Compile and present weekly reports and provide in-depth analysis on all available leads  

  • Manage and update internal databases and sales CRM 

  • Foster strong relationships within the wider music industry  

  • Regularly attend gigs, showcases and industry conferences

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in an A&R or scouting role preferred but not required  

  • Knowledgeable about music and youth culture with a keen eye for emerging trends 

  • Digital savvy with a good understanding of streaming platforms and social media  

  • Ability to translate data into insights  

  • Exceptional communication and relationship building skills within a client facing role  

  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast paced environment  

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task  

  • A team player with a can-do attitude

Client Onboarding Project Manager

The Job

The Onboarding Manager will play a key role in analysing client patterns to assist in onboarding their publishing catalogue onto our platform. Clients include labels, sub-publishers, and artists. The Onboarding Manager will centralise the knowledge of internal processes and be able to support different teams on how best to set up clients’ catalogues on our internal platform.

They will manage communication between cross-functional teams, document progress, and ensure timely and successful catalogue system onboarding. They need music publishing experience and an understanding of PRO work registration to define bespoke catalogue set-up, enabling automated registration processes and royalty distributions.

Onboarding clients

  • Liaise with internal teams to facilitate the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring a smooth transition and integration into our systems and services.
  • Analyse and interpret complex copyright registration data formats and music publishing client contracts to define the best way to set up a client’s catalogue within our internal system.
  • Set up and refine internal onboarding processes based on publishing knowledge to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Take ownership of bespoke catalogue onboarding, being able to delegate tasks between multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel to analyse data, build macros, and enable data extraction from complex spreadsheets.

Implementation of processes

  • Ability to think critically and develop internal processes to optimise the workflow of cross-functional teams.
  • Manage internal teams on the project level, including assigning tasks, setting deadlines, communicating status, and monitoring progress.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to deliver timely implementations.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Experience querying an Elastic database to retrieve relevant data is desirable but not required.

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of data automation with the ability to transform extractions into a platform-specific format to onboard client catalogues.
  • Copyright or royalties experience with a music publisher or performing rights organisation.
  • Extensive understanding and ability to interpret music publishing agreements and chain of titles.
  • Experience in implementation, project management, or a similar role is desired.
  • Familiarity with Music Maestro desirable 
  • xcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
  • Detail-oriented and organised, focusing on process improvement and efficiency.

Sales Operations Administrator

The Job

We are looking for a Sales Operations Administrator to join our growing UK team.

Based in London, you will be responsible for administrative functions to support the Sales team whilst ensuring the highest standard of data entry accuracy. 

Responsibilities:
 

  • Support Sales, Finance and Legal in processing and closing opportunities 
  • Drive sales revenue by creating efficiencies and removing roadblocks for the Sales team
  • Coordinate data collection and document management
  • Check and analyse sales and contractual data 
  • Manage sales data and deals in Salesforce in liaison with the Sales, Sales Operations, Finance and Legal teams
  • Process contracts quickly and efficiently within the CRM system in liaison with the Sales and Legal teams 
  • Coordinate any changes requested and make sure all appropriate approvals have been received 
  • Align data between systems to enable full end-to-end operations and reporting
  • Ensure SLA’s are achieved in order to guarantee accuracy and meet timeframes
  • Trouble shoot errors and identify and report data discrepancies or system bugs to the team 
  • Work with commercial operations team to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our systems and processes

Qualified Solicitor – Music Business

The Job

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic qualified solicitor with experience and passion for music law to work in the legal & business affairs department of our London office.  

You will report directly to the senior business affairs lawyer and in dotted line to the Chief Legal Office of Believe based in Europe (France) and work closely with all teams within the business based in the UK and with the Central Legal Department located in France. 

Primarily handling label and artists signings for our distribution / artist services departments, you will ensure that the Believe Group processes, contract templates and business rules are applied throughout negotiations and completion of deals. You will  provide consistent legal support to the admin and sales teams to ensure we sign contracts as efficiently as possible.    

In practical terms, your tasks and responsibilities are to: 

  • review, negotiate and complete contracts under the supervision and guidance of the senior business affairs lawyer ; 
  • implement the guidelines, processes and policies set up by the Believe Group, as adapted where applicable to comply with the laws of England & Wales;  
  • deal with a wide range of music industry related agreements including; synchronisation licences, compilation licences, broadcast agreements, marketing services and brand partnerships; 
  • assist on litigation matters, reporting to our head of litigation in Paris and with external lawyers where necessary; 
  •  Liaise with Headquarter Legal department (based in France) through a detailed reporting, in order to seek approval and ensure all relevant information is shared ; 
  • Liaise with other departments of the group and train as necessary to ensure templates are well understood and implemented;
  • Participate as required to elaboration of template & establishment of process at local or group level;
  • assist with general corporate, compliance, and business matters in the UK where legal input is required. 
  • Legal monitoring on local laws, in particular in the field technonology applied to intellectual property;

Qualifications

A minimum of 4 years PQE as a lawyer in the music business sector either in-house or in private practice.   

Team player, with excellent inter-personal skills that enable you to communicate efficiently at different levels of the Believe Group in the UK and abroad. You are friendly, cooperative and willing to assist with all day-to-day queries that arise. 

Proven aptitude for reporting. Used to working with Groups headquartered abroad, and with management located abroad (France). 

Possess a solid understanding of the legal and contractual frameworks in the music industry, including copyright, licensing, and intellectual property matters. 

Demonstrated ability to draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements, with strong attention to detail and excellent negotiation skills. 

Business facilitator, showing a solution oriented spirit to support the closing of a deal. 

Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines effectively. 

Thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, embracing new challenges and displaying flexibility in responding to evolving industry trends and business needs. 

The preferred candidate should exhibit a natural ability and familiarity with a tech-driven environment notably through usage of contracting and CRM tools, excellent abilities with digital platforms and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
