BEAMS (Believe for Educational Advancement through Music Scholarship) is a program Believe India co-developed with the NGO Manzil Mystics, an organization dedicated to using music to drive social change.

BEAMS celebrated the graduation of their first batch in August 2024! Let’s deep-dive into the program and its impact!

BEAMS projects contribute to one of the four key pillars of Shaping Music for Good, our CSR strategy: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.

BEAMS in a few words …

The purpose of this project is to provide a platform for students from low socio- economic background to showcase their talent while providing opportunities for them to learn music and enhance their leadership and employability skills in the Music Industry.

BEAMS is composed of 3 components:

  • BEAMS Fellowship: Upskilling of 10 BEAMS fellows
  • PANKH School programme: Providing students access to music education while using music as a tool to learn
  • BEAMS Short-term certification: 3-month long short-term certification courses on various topics

10 fellows graduated in August 2024!

After 2 years in the program, rhythmed by +20 hours each week with not only music education, but also English & communication classes, math & computer sessions, and mental wellbeing learnings, the 10 young talents graduated and were placed in organization that they desired within the music industry.

Impact of the BEAMS Project

  • During these 2 years, they produced +30 songs & performed in +64 live concerts attended by +10 000 persons.
  • Additionally, each fellow was paired with a mentor (all established musicians in the field) to further enhance their skills, tailored to their specific interests, provided guidance and refine their musical abilities.

External Recognition for BEAMS

BEAMS won the Gold Award from ACEF (Global Customer Engagement Summit and Awards) for its 13th edition in August 2024, demonstrating its success and impact!
