Let’s talk Gender Equity with women from Believe!

In celebration of Women’s History Month, we are excited to share our podcast series featuring women at Believe on the topic of Gender Equity in the music industry.

Over the past few months, we’ve been meeting with some Believers from around the world and taking the time to discuss with them their experiences as women in the music industry.

Learn more about their experiences, insights and feedback on the gender-related challenges of working in the music industry:

  • Have they faced gender-related challenges in their careers, and how did they overcome them?
  • What lessons do they wish someone had shared with them earlier in their career?

Life at Believe – Embracing green energy to reduce carbon emissions in India

Discover our new Mumbai office!  As Believe India continues to grow, we’ve expanded our workspace while strengthening our commitment to sustainability. By transitioning to renewable energy, we have reduced our global carbon footprint by 9% in one year, proving that local actions drive global impact.

Project overview

Since May 2023, Believe’s Mumbai office has doubled in size to support our growing operations in the region. This expansion came with a significant challenge: a projected 40% increase in electricity consumption, mainly from non-renewable energy sources, which would have resulted in a drastic increase in carbon emissions.

Aware of the environmental impact, we took proactive steps to switch the office’s electricity consumption to renewable energy sources leading to a substantial reduction in overall . This initiative has not only helped to meet the expected increase in energy demand but has also contributed to

Key achievements

By switching our Mumbai office to renewable energy sources, we have taken an important step in our sustainability journey. Locally, this change has resulted in a reduction of around 156.25 tons of CO₂ emissions, reflecting the immediate impact of switching to green energy. Globally,.

By shifting away from non-renewable energy sources, it has paved the way for other Believe offices to adopt similar sustainable practices.

At Believe, our commitment to Shaping Music for Good is at the heart of our business model, and this project exemplifies Believe’s commitment to environmental sustainability. By adopting renewable energy, we have taken a tangible step toward becoming more effective in how we work while reducing our environmental impact. This initiative aligns seamlessly with our broader transformation objectives, reinforcing our mission to create a positive and lasting impact.

The success of this initiative highlights the power of collaboration and operational excellence in driving sustainable solutions.

BEAMS (Believe for Educational Advancement through Music Scholarship) is a program Believe India co-developed with the NGO Manzil Mystics, an organization dedicated to using music to drive social change.

BEAMS celebrated the graduation of their first batch in August 2024! Let’s deep-dive into the program and its impact!

BEAMS projects contribute to one of the four key pillars of Shaping Music for Good, our CSR strategy: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.

BEAMS in a few words …

The purpose of this project is to provide a platform for students from low socio- economic background to showcase their talent while providing opportunities for them to learn music and enhance their leadership and employability skills in the Music Industry.

BEAMS is composed of 3 components:

  • BEAMS Fellowship: Upskilling of 10 BEAMS fellows
  • PANKH School programme: Providing students access to music education while using music as a tool to learn
  • BEAMS Short-term certification: 3-month long short-term certification courses on various topics

10 fellows graduated in August 2024!

After 2 years in the program, rhythmed by +20 hours each week with not only music education, but also English & communication classes, math & computer sessions, and mental wellbeing learnings, the 10 young talents graduated and were placed in organization that they desired within the music industry.

Impact of the BEAMS Project

  • During these 2 years, they produced +30 songs & performed in +64 live concerts attended by +10 000 persons.
  • Additionally, each fellow was paired with a mentor (all established musicians in the field) to further enhance their skills, tailored to their specific interests, provided guidance and refine their musical abilities.

External Recognition for BEAMS

BEAMS won the Gold Award from ACEF (Global Customer Engagement Summit and Awards) for its 13th edition in August 2024, demonstrating its success and impact!
